To all friends of Touch ‘N’ Go, both past and present,
It is a truly bittersweet time for me. After forty years of living at and running Touch ‘N’ Go, I have sold the property. The past forty years have been truly wonderful and I have met many, many great people. I have had some fabulous horse shows, hosted amazing parties, sold fabulous horses, and raised some wonderful children, not all of whom are my own.
Unfortunately, I have also had a few difficulties with my health over the last handful of years. I have been assisted during hard times by some very close friends, who I am so thankful for. Due to these circumstances, I have been put in a precarious financial situation. Selling was the only way to both pay back those who have assisted me over the years, as well as free myself of the financial troubles which have plagued me.
Now I will be debt free which will be a huge relief. I plan on continuing doing what I love, which is selling quality horses. It is what I have always done, what I do best and what I am meant to be doing. I also believe that we will be continuing our adult shows and lollipop shows next year at another facility. I have already entered into talks with someone who would like to keep running the shows, “Just like they are now”, and as soon as I have regrouped I will get next year’s plan to all of you.
I hope that all the professional contacts I have made over my long career will keep in contact so that I may keep assisting in finding horses. Kristjan and I have had great success with our sales in the last year or so, and we are very proud of some of the horses we have had that have gone on to do great things.
Kate has taken over the role that I once had when I began Touch ‘N’ Go and is teaching and horse showing. She is going to continue to do this going forward and will be set up somewhere close by so that she can keep her fabulous group together and insure that she can continue the next generation of equestrian talent.
As we go forward onto brighter new ventures we hope that some luck will shine our way, however we cannot rely entirely on luck and so we may need some help along the way. However, ultimately, we are trusting in the universe at this point and now it is time to embrace the future and create something completely new. In order to complete the transition and bring forth this new era of stability and positivity we will be leaving behind the Touch ‘N’ Go name. I thank all of those who have come into my life and been a part of Touch ‘N’ Go Farms over the year. It has been a truly remarkable forty years, and I am excited to see what the future will have in store.
