Laura has been riding horses since the age of 6 and has competed on the Trillium Circuit as a junior and as an adult. At the age of 19, she travelled to England for 3 months and took her British Horse society BHSAI. Laura has trained with Jane Casselman for over 21 years now and combines the knowledge she has received from Jane, England and other experiences to her teaching. Riding Lessons at Touch 'n' Go Farm

Whether you are interested in regular weekly riding lessons, part boarding, leasing or owning a horse or pony, we are here to help. We offer group lessons, semi-private lessons, and private lessons. Our lessons run from September – December, January – April, and May – August. We offer special programs in the summer. All fees are due at the beginning of each month leaving post dated cheques for the remainder of each session in payment box.

Prices:

  • Group Lessons of 4 students : $39.55 for an hour
  • Group Lessons of 3 students: $39.55 for 45 minutes.
  • Semi-Private : $45.20 for 45 minutes
  • Private: $50.85 for 30 minutes

We offer a fun, casual atmosphere for all your needs as a rider. Safety is a #1 priority with Touch’N’Go Farms. All students will be required to wear an approved safety riding helmet, boots with at least 1” heel and tight fitting pants or breeches. All can be purchased at our local Tack Store around the corner. You will also need a grooming kit and crop which can be purchased at the tack store as well. If your child has ridden please or call the barn at (905)854-2391 to set up an assessment. Cost of the assessment is $28.25.

Cancelled or missed lessons:

In case of cancelled lessons, you will receive an email or phone call. We will offer a make-up day. If you are unable to attend a lesson due to an illness you must notify us by 8am by sending an  in order to be eligible for a make-up. Any planned absences need 48 hours notice and Laura will schedule a make-up lesson. All make ups must be made up by the end of the next month or they will be forfeited. There are no refunds for lessons missed.

Lesson & Stable Etiquette

  • Arrive at least one half hour before your lesson time. You need to be ready to go into the arena for your lesson ten minutes before your lesson starts.
  • Adjust your stirrups in the barn so they will need minimum adjustment in the ring.
  • Clean up any mess your horse makes and make sure you sweep and leave the grooming area organised and cleaned BEFORE you ride.
  • After your lesson put away everything you used, clean your bridle and make sure your stirrups are run up and your saddle cover is on properly with saddle pad placed over top.
  • Again, clean up after your horse and sweep the area.
  • Make sure that you have picked up everything and don’t forget any of your stuff.


9 level Riding Program

We are launching a 9 level riding program. Current students will be placed in the level suited to them. At the start of a level, each student will be given a description of the level they are in and what goals they are working towards. The theory and practical portions will be offered twice a year during the January to April session and the September to December session.

  • Students in Beginner 1 need to have boots with a heel and long pants. Long hair needs to be worn in a ponytail or tied back.
  • Students in beginner 2 should have their own helmet, gloves, crop and grooming bag. Hair must be tied back.
  • Students in Intermediate/Advanced should have breeches, half chaps, or tall boots, hairnets. Hair must be tied back.
